Market Report: 7th April ‘16 – 21st April ‘16

Hello and welcome to the latest market report.
We’ve got a bumper edition for you this week so let’s dive straight in. Remember to keep your eyes peeled for our new website. Find us at

Clockwise from top left: UK Aspargus, Rainbow Radish, Wild Garlic and UK Heritage Tomatoes

UK grown New Potatoes have dipped in quality and our stock is now French new crop.
The first UK extra-large Spring Onions are arriving and are good quality and value. Fresh Brussels Sprouts have now finished but they are still available frozen should you want them.

Purple Sprouting Broccoli is still in very short supply and we’d recommend using Tender Stem as an alternative.
Calvo Nero is also short and expensive as a result.

Cauliflower on the other hand is plentiful and the price has recently come down. The first UK Asparagus is here and looks great. The price is still high at the moment but we expect that to change in the coming weeks as supply increases.

Best Buys: Heritage Carrots, Cauliflower, Wild Garlic, Banana Shallots and Parsnips

Wild Garlic is in full swing and is both great quality and value.
New season Rainbow Radish is arriving and looks beautiful as ever.

However, English Rainbow Chard has now finished and the Italian crop is almost finished too.
Mixed UK Heritage Tomatoes are arriving and not only do they taste great they’re good for the environment too as the grower makes sure they’re pesticide free.

Best Buys: Little Gem Lettuce, UK Watercress, Extra Large Spring Onions, Mixed Leaf Salad and Heritage Tomatoes

Outdoor grown English Rhubarb is plentiful and juicy Blood Oranges are still available but sadly Peaches and Nectarines are no longer available due to poor quality.

Best Buys: Blueberries, Clementines, UK Conference Pears, Raspberries and Strawberries

Wild Mushrooms

We have so many varieties to choose from that we’ve given them their own section this week! If you’d like more detail just ask when placing your order.

The following are all available…

Chanterelle, Girolle, St George’s, Cepes, Pied de Mouton, Mousseron, Trompette, Pied Bleu and Morel.

That’s it for this week folks. Thanks for reading!

We would like to remind everyone that we also supply an extensive range of dried goods and dairy products.

We kindly ask that all customers return as many boxes as possible as we try to strengthen our environmental policy and recycle as much as possible. Thank you.
