Welcome to our latest Market Report. We hope you’ve been enjoying the summer sunshine.
We have plenty of delicious UK grown produce to tell you about this week. As ever, you can find all the latest news and information on our website.
Vegetables
Our Asparagus stock is now exclusively Central American as the European and UK seasons have now finished. Quality is good but it’s slightly more expensive due to the extra distance it’s travelled.
UK Purple Broccoli on the other hand is back in season and is both great quality and value.
UK grown Chantenay Carrots are also back in stock and after some complaints that their Spanish replacement was too large you’ll be pleased to hear they are now the traditional small size once again.
Swede, Parsnips and Beetroot are now from Spain as the British season has come to an end.
The first of this year’s UK Runner Beans are available but remain expensive due to limited supply. We do however expect this to improve in the coming weeks.
New season UK Carrots and Courgettes will both be with us soon.
Due to increased supply we are pleased to report that both Leeks and Onions have come down in price.
Banana Shallots are quite the opposite unfortunately, in short supply and rather expensive as a result. The same applies to Cauliflower and Broccoli, the harvesting of which is still being affected by heavy rainfall last month.

Salads
British Primo and Savoy Cabbages are in full swing and both great quality and value. Perfect for adding a bit of crunch to your summer BBQ salads.

Fruits
As well as it being peak season for all UK Berries we can also offer Blackcurrants, White currants and delicious Gooseberries. The first UK grown Cherries are also now available.
Finally, both fresh Lychees and Sharon fruit (aka Kaki fruit) are back in season.
