Apologies for the unusually long break between this report and the last but as Im sure you can all appreciate this is an extremly busy time of year.
Starting with Vegetables

Prepared Dutch Brussel Sprouts are good quality and in full swing but due to the cold weather UK Cauliflower is in short supply and we have switched to French as a result. The cold has also forced us to move to indoor grown Spinach which is better quality but slightly more expensive.  Mixed squashes including Onion, Kabucha and Harlequin are all still available but loose corn on the cob has now finished.

This week  Best Buys include: Broccoli, Brussel sprouts, Parsnips and Turnips.


Moving onto Fruits

The season for Turkish Figs has finished and we are moving to Brazilian. Cherries are now in full swing and have come down in price slightly. Strawberries are in very short supply and very expensive as a result due to the cold weather and changing seasons.  Red pears are no longer available but Custard Apples and fresh Chestnuts are still on the market. Finally, our grapes are now coming from Brazil, this means better quality but they are more expensive.

This week the Best Buys include: Cranberry, Clementine, Blueberry, Raspberry and Fig.

Salads:

Tiger and Green Tomatoes have finished. Our Radicchio and Fennel are now coming from Italy and Spring Onion is Egyptian.

This week the Best Buys include all Cherry Vine Tomato, Radicchio, Cos and Round Lettuce.
