Market Report 15 November - 29 November
Starting with Vegetables
Loose corn on the cob has finished and is now only available pre packed which is more expensive. Chantenay Parsnips are in full swing as are Blushed Mids. Prepared Dutch Sprouts of good quality are arriving and UK Romanesco is still around but English Broccoli has come to an end and we have moved to Spanish. Lastly, all Christmas Nuts including fresh Chestnuts are now in full swing.
This week the Best Buys include: UK Apples, Figs, Blueberries, extra sweet Pineapple, and Clementines.
Salads:
English Cos has finished and we have moved to Spanish which is slightly more expensive but much better quality. All UK Lettuce has also come to an end and we are now supplying French which again, is slightly more money but this shouldn’t last long. English Iceberg has gone and our stock is now Spanish. Finally, Spring Onion is now Egyptian and the price of Avocado has been pushed down due to increased availability.
This week the Best Buys include all Cos Lettuce, Chinese Leaf, Radicchio, Cherry Vine Tomato and UK Water Cress.

This week Best Buys include: Cauliflower, Savoy Cabbage, Parsnip, Leek and UK Onion.
Moving onto Fruits
Cherries are starting to arrive in the market as are the first Cape Apricots, the quality of both is good but they are quite expensive at the moment. All European Grapes are coming to an end and we are switching to Brazilian. South African Lemons have also finished and we are now stocking
Spanish which are better quality and value. Fresh Cranberries and Leafy Clementine’s are now in full swing.
