Welcome to this week’s Market Report.

UK Produce continues to flourish and the recent warm weather has seen the arrival of some more exotic produce on the market.


Starting with Vegetables; UK Asparagus has now finished and is no longer available. However, UK Bobby Beans are back in season and on the market as is UK Romanesco but it is in short supply at the moment.
We are now moving to a new crop on all varieties of potatoes and as a result the price will be pushed down slightly.
We have been stocking UK Spinach but the French variety is back and readily available. With Carrots it’s the opposite, the French season has finished and we a switching to the UK new crop

 

ROMANESCO

This week the Best Buys include UK Broccoli, Courgette and Savoy.

Moving onto Fruits; Comice Pears have finished completely and Conference Pears are still out of season and won’t be available for the next three to four weeks.
Due to a recent change of crop Pineapples are currently in short supply but this shouldn’t last long.
Limes are also a little short and you may see a slight price rise as a result.
The season for European Kiwi has now finished and we are changing to the New Zealand variety which is better value and quality.
The new season of Pink Lady Apples is also excellent and great value for money.

KIWI

This week the Best Buys include Apricots, Cherries, Raspberries, Peaches and Nectarines.

Salads: The second UK crop of the season is now in full swing but UK Tomatoes are still in short supply.

 
This week the Best Buys include Little Gem, Cos Lettuce, Baby Spinach and Celery.
